NICK HENDRY
SUMINAGASHI ARTIST
About Me
I have been involved in the art space for a long time. In 2015, I started creating glitch art using custom-made generative programs and filtering tools in Adobe. This involved creating visually abstract images and GIFs.
Since 2022, I have been exploring other mediums and have grown fond of the Suminagashi method of paper marbling. My approach is different from the standard method, as I create my pieces in the ocean using biodegradable Sumi Ink and subfractants, instead of a studio space. I use handmade paper for my art, and I aim to use locally made-paper whenever I travel to a new place.
As I explore this form, I want to challenge myself to represent this medium in different ways.
I plan to create more interactive pieces and experiment with different materials for printmaking. I will log all my progress in a blog space, which can be found on this website.
